Lots to see in lots of places this month!
In Crescent City, three paintings from my “Wildfires” series can be seen through September 29 at the Crescent Harbor Gallery, which is hosting the 5th Annual National Juried Art Competition of the Coast Redwoods Art Association.
In San Francisco, the “Artist’s Choice” show at the San Francisco Women Artists gallery has “Fossil” (a watercolor/gouache from my “Seashells” series) and “Single Element” (a natural Oregon chalk drawing from my “Rowing” series). Open T-W-Th 12-5 and F-S 11:45-5:30, the gallery is at Sacramento@Laurel, and the show runs until October 3.
In Santa Rosa, “Loose Pearls,” part of the “Jewels of Ocean Beach” series, is in Aqua Areas 2009, the 15th Annual Exhibition of the Watercolor Artists of Sonoma County — September 11-20 at the Coddington Mall (open every day, mall hours).
In Pacifica, my chalk pastel “Marin Headlands (One)” is part of the Art Guild of Pacifica’s annual members-only show, September 11-October 17 at the Sanchez Art Center (F-S-S 1-4).
In Sausalito, my new watercolor mosaic “Sunrise over San Francisco Bay” is part of the Marin County Watercolor Society’s show at the Bay Model, September 15-October 17 (T-S 9-4).
In San Rafael, 10 of my newest watercolors are in the group show “Ripples,” running from September 14-December 10 at the Marin Civic Center, in the 1st and 3rd floor exhibition areas (M-F 9-5). This show features work depicting water in all its aspects, by seven watercolorists — Kay Russell, who is my City College painting teacher, and six of us longtime students.
