New venue

For the first time, my work is appearing in an online-only college literary magazine.

It’s called “Switchback” and it’s a project of the MFA Program in Creative Writing at the University of San Francisco.

My watercolors “Memory” and “California Natives in Golden Gate Park” can be seen in issue #10, “Figurative vs. Literal.”  Please go to www.swback.com and click on the title to get to the title page, where the paintings are; also, I’m profiled under “Contributors” on the home page.

The Marin Society of Artists’ 82nd Annual Members Show runs from October 11 through November 8, and I’m very happy that two of my watercolor paintings were juried in: “What’s Left” and “Huo/Fire.”   The gallery is at 30 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Ross, and is open M-Th 11-4 and weekends 12-4.

In San Rafael, 10 of my newest watercolors are in the group show “Ripples,” continuing through December 10 at the Marin Civic Center, in the 1st and 3rd floor exhibition areas (M-F 9-5).  This show features work depicting water in all its aspects, by seven watercolorists — Kay Russell, who is my City College painting teacher, and six of us longtime students.

“Turquoise” (a watercolor from my “Jewels of Ocean Beach” series) is in the “Fall Colors” show at the San Francisco Women Artists gallery, open T-W-Th 12-5 and F-S 11:45-5:30 at Sacramento@Laurel. The show runs until November 1.

My chalk pastel “Marin Headlands (One)” is part of the Art Guild of Pacifica’s annual members-only show at the Sanchez Art Center (F-S-S 1-4).  And my new watercolor mosaic “Sunrise over San Francisco Bay” is part of the Marin County Watercolor Society’s show at the Bay Model (T-Sat 9-4). Both shows run through October 17.
