Holiday art sales

Monday, November 30th, 2009

My handmade paper crafts — one-of-a-kind greeting cards, journals whose covers are watercolor-painted, bookmarks — are among the many, many items on offer at the Fogbelt Studio Holiday Sale this coming weekend — F 12-8, S 10-6  and S 12-6 — at 2528 25th Avenue (between Ulloa and Vicente) in San Francisco.  This is the 17th year that my friend and artist Kathy Dybeck has held this very popular, fun event at her teaching studio.

And the following weekend (December 11-13) finds me (among many others!) and my watercolors at the Art Guild of Pacifica’s Open Studio event, taking place at the Sanchez Art Center, 1220 Linda Mar Boulevard in Pacifica.  Hours are F 7-9 and S-S 11-5.

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Two of my recent acrylic experiments — “And You Shall Receive” and “Trust” — are in the “Expressions of Gratitude” show through December 5 at the San Francisco Women Artists gallery at Sacramento@Laurel — T-W-Th 12-5 and F-S 11:45-5:30.

Five watercolors from my “Jewels of Ocean Beach” series are part of the “Small Treaures” show at the Marin Society of Artists, through December 13.  The gallery is at 30 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Ross, and is open M-T-W-Th 11-4 and S-S 12-4.

And the watercolor “Lake Merced, San Francisco” can be seen in the “Small Works” show opening on November 28 at the Art Works Downtown gallery at 1337 Fourth Street in San Rafael.  Gallery hours are T-W-Th-F-S 10-5.

The group show “Ripples” continues through December 10 at San Rafael’s Marin Civic Center, in the 1st and 3rd floor exhibition areas (M-F 9-5).  This show features work depicting water in all its aspects, by seven watercolorists — Kay Russell, who is my City College painting teacher, and six of us longtime students.
