I’ve just hung my newest paintings at the AWE Gallery — a set of 6 watercolor-on-canvas abstract treatments of eucalyptus bark and leaves. Eucalyptus trees being so ubiquitous in the Bay Area that we often just look past them, I thought their unique shaggy and droopy features deserved some special attention.
And our encaustic/ekphrastic focus continues on Sunday at 2 PM, with poetry by Kit Kennedy, Jane Green, Sherri Rose-Walker and Nancy Wakeman inspired by Eileen Goldenberg’s current show in the Gallery Annex. The poets will be joined by flutist Bill Mercer.
The AWE (A Woman’s Eye) Gallery is at 678 Portola Drive in San Francisco. Open Saturday and Sunday 12-5 and by appointment.
