In honor of the Summer Olympics, I’ve just hung my series of rowing paintings (pastel and watercolor) at the AWE Gallery. When people see that series (it’s been around), I am often surprised and happy to find a fellow water person — but most can viewers relate to the same lines and shapes that rowing evokes for me. Come see for yourself. 678 Portola Drive in San Francisco, Saturdays and Sundays 12-5 — the show ends when I decide to take it down.
And Pauline Scott and I have collaborated again — this time we are at the gallery in the Mercy Center in Burlingame. Our show is called “Explorations in Color ” and my part consists of two freshly painted sets of my color-study series “Do You Dream in Color?” The Mercy Center (a retreat house with portions open to the non-retreating public) is at 2300 Adeline Drive in Burlingame, and you can visit between 9-5 weekdays — just tell the receptionist you ‘d like to see the art show (and stay to walk the beautiful grounds!). It closes at the end of August. Or go to www.mercy-center.org and scroll down to “Monthly Art Exhibits” for info.
And … friend and colleague Paul Didier will be showing his handmade, one-of-a kind chairs (or are they sculptures? at any rate, you can sit on them) at the AWE Gallery this coming Saturday July 28 from 12-5. They will look fabulous with the encaustic art by the current visiting artists, Nancy Pollock, Larraine Seiden and Judith Williams, whose show closes the next day.
